UNIFIED Announces Winners Of Its $25K Grant Program For Music Creatives

123

Aussie music champions UNIFIED have announced the winners of the 2017 $25K Grant Program and it’s a fine list of young creatives.

The program offers $5,000 to five young creatives working behind the scenes in the music industry to help propel their projects and careers.

Out of hundreds of applications, the UNIFIED panel has whittled it down to five and they are:

  • Jessica Hope – Don’t Fret Club: Don’t Fret Club is a podcast encouraging music fans to talk about mental health. Each podcast features interviews with artists about depression, anxiety and addiction in the hope of breaking the stigma surrounding mental health
  • Brenton Tuohey – www.mediaaccreditation.com.au: Tuohey has built an automated list management system for publicists/managers and publications to use to simplify the application process for media passes to shows.
  • James Morris – Baked Goods: Baked Goods is a media company promoting the best new Aussie music. It started out as just live performances and interviews but has since expanded to all media forms.
  • Pixie Weyland – FEED MUSIC: Feed Music is a not-for-profit organisation that enables artists to use their location to pinpoint places where they can eat on tour for free to improve better mental wellbeing.
  • Andrew Brassington – Boys Don’t Cry: Brassington is just 17 year-old but he’s already running this all ages music collective. It throws alcohol-free, all ages events bringing new music straight to young people.

“The calibre of applications this year was very high and with over 200 applications it was difficult to pick only five which is a huge credit to the future of our industry,” said UNIFIED CEO Jaddan Comerford.

“As a company, we are very proud to be in a position to be able to support the future leaders of our business.”

UNIFIED has announced that the grant program will return again next year with applications set to open in September 2018. Once again they are looking for creatives and visionaries working behind the scenes in the music indusrty.
