Thank a Soldier

Many communities will hold parades and ceremonies on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, to honor members of the military. In Springfield, the city will have a downtown parade and ceremony at City Hall. The festivities will include music, floats, veterans, and a military color guard in addition to a commemorative laying of a wreath at the city’s War Monument. If you want to catch the parade, it begins at Springfield Technical Community College at 11 a.m. The parade will then move down State Street, turn right onto Main Street, and stop at Court Square for the wreath ceremony.
