There’s A Petition For Netflix To Dump Chris Brown Documentary After Kevin Spacey’s Sacking

A petition today posted to change.org is calling for Netflix to take down a Chris Brown documentary following the axing of Kevin Spacey from the streaming platform’s original series House Of Cards.

Spacey has been accused of sexual misconduct by several men over the past week and as a result Netflix stopped production on the show, and have since confirmed Spacey will not return.

As Pedestrian points out, the petition was posted today by an Australian by the name of Amy Pes, and it calls on the streaming platform to take down the Brown doco Chris Brown: Welcome To My Life in the wake of the action taken against Spacey.

“Netflix fired Kevin Spacey immediately amid allegations of sexual assault, and have confirmed they have dropped House of Cards after its 6th season,” says Pes.

“Disturbingly, Netflix are still, however, playing host to and promoting the documentary of disgraced R&B star Chris Brown, “Welcome to my Life”.

Pes then seeks to remind Netflix that Brown was charged with battery after he “viciously disfigured and busted up then-girlfriend Rihanna” in 2009, and has had several other accusations of violence against women filed against him since then.

“It’s deplorable that an entertainment company as large as Netflix, which also purports to have decent, fair and progressive views, a company that does not stand for those who perpetrate sexual violence, would give platform and a voice to a serial perpetrator of violence against women,” she continues.

The petition already has almost 200 signatures at the time of publishing.
