In a mindblowing plot twist, it seems Big Shaq may actually be hot after all. Well, at least, eligible for triple j‘s Hottest 100 of 2017.
Thanks to some #quickmaffs, the joke rapper’s grimelord banger ‘Man’s Not Hot’ has been officially deemed eligible for the station’s annual countdown, appearing on triple j‘s shortlist of the best songs of 2017, and Twitter is losing its damn mind:

Any bets on where Big Shaq will land in the #Hottest100? I’m thinking 2+2=4…

Ok so there’s this radio station that’s running a poll of the best hits in Australia for 2017. Why can I vote for Big Shaq? They don’t have Imagine Dragons or Ed Sheeran on there but they made sure I could gosh darn vote for Man’s Not Hot! Not complaining tbh xD pic.twitter.com/Fz1YF9b68U

It’s definitely gotta hurt to be a Taylor Swift fan right now.
It’s a great time to be a Big Shaq fan, though; not only is the meme rapper pretty much guaranteed to chart in triple j‘s big list (because c’mon), he’s also coming down under for the first time soon, to perform at a handful of Aussie festivals, including Perth’s Origin NYE and Victoria’s Let Them Eat Cake.
Meanwhile, ICYMI, the Hottest 100 of 2017 will not be counted down on Australia Day next year, after triple j opted to #changethedate to “the fourth weekend in January” (which this year falls on Saturday, 27th January) in order to extricate the celebratory countdown from the cultural controversies surrounding 26th January.
Voting is now open for this year’s Hottest 100, and you can head here for everything you need to know. Or just prepare yourself for #MansNotHottest100, below.
In other Hottest 100 news, there’s also a campaign to somehow get Operator Please’s 2007 track ‘Just A Song About Ping Pong’ into this year’s countdown.
