Looks Like Smashing Pumpkins’ Reunion Tour Is Happening, But Not With D’arcy Wretzky

A Smashing Pumpkins reunion looks like it is actually going to happen but without original bassist D’arcy Wretzky.

Billy Corgan posted a picture last week in the studio with former bandmates James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin all but confirming the reunion album he’s spoken about.

Wretzky was noticeably missing and now she’s confirmed that that band reunion won’t involved her.

“My apologies to all of the Smashing Pumpkins fans out there who are excited about this oncoming reunion tour of the original members of the band,” she told Blast Echo in a text message.

“I know this is a huge disappointment for me, as well, but it’s not going to happen [with me].”

“I only just found about yesterday that the band has decided to go with a different bass player,” she further wrote.

She confirmed that the band has plans to head out on tour this year with the new bass player who is yet to be confirmed.

The last album Wretzky played on was 2000’s MACHINA/The Machines of God, although she only played on part of it.

Corgan and Wretzky got back in touch two years ago and seemed to be repairing their relationship. At that time Wretzky said she’d “consider” rejoining the band.

Corgan is yet to address a reunion or the absence of Wretzky.
