Rock n Roll Resort Announces Headliners for Grateful Dead Themed Weekend Getaway

Golden Gate Wingmen and Melvin Seals & JGB will headline 8th annual Rock n Roll Resort. The “Grateful Escape” weekend takes place from Friday, March 23 to Sunday, March 25. Golden Gate Wingmen have been jamming imaginative interpretations of Grateful Dead music since 2014. The stellar line-up is comprised of guitarist John Kadlecik (Furthur, Dark Star Orchestra, Phil and Friends), bassist Reed Mathis (Billy and The Kids, Electric Beethoven), keyboardist Jeff Chimenti (Dead and Company, Fare Thee Well, RatDog, Furthur, The Dead, Phil and Friends), and drummer Jay Lane (RatDog, Furthur, Primus, Electric Beethoven).

Melvin Seals renown for his funky-blues rock-gospel fusion, played with the Jerry Garcia Band from 1980 to 1995. His band Melvin Seals and JGB pays tribute to Garcia, and is known as “Keepers of the Flame.” In addition to Seals, the band features the talent of Cheryl Rucker, Shirley Starks, Peter Lavezzoli, Zach Nugent, John-Paul McLean.

A partial lineup has been released, and includes multiple sets from “lethal-funk” pioneers Kung Fu throughout the weekend, and a rare performance from psychedelic funk-rockers The Breakfast. Additional acts will be announced. Follow Rock n Roll resort on Facebook for updates.

Hudson Valley Resort & Spa is located just 90 miles from New York City. The fully renovated vacation destination features many on-site amenities including a modern spa and fitness center with Jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms, an arcade center and game room.
