We’ve been awaiting the return of Smashing Pumpkins‘ original lineup (bar D’arcy Wretzky) and it looks like we’re getting very close.
A countdown has appeared on the band’s official website and at the time of writing there are 4 days to go meaning it’s due to end in the early hours of Friday morning.
Billy Corgan and co have offered no explanation of what it all means but both a tour and new music have been teased.
Corgan has been in the studio with both James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin at Rick Rubin’s Malibu property. They were also snapped during a photoshoot that showed the band with guitarist Jeff Schroeder.
They have also updated their Instagram telling fans that there are ice-cream trucks roaming around LA and New York. People are being encouraged to find them and snap a picture for the chance to win some Yamaha gear.
It’s still all very ambiguous but we’re at least going to get some information next week which will be the first official piece of information since rumours about a Smashing Pumpkins reunion started swelling.
