The team behind two of Australia’s biggest music festivals — Splendour In The Grass and Falls Festival — may have dropped some juicy hints at which acts they’re considering for their future lineups, after announcing which musos will be performing at their upcoming South By Southwest party in Austin, Texas.
Splendour and Falls masterminds Secret Sounds have recruited a list of Aussie and international acts for their SXSW shindig, which will be headlined by homegrown legends Gang Of Youths and Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy.
The two-stage party will also host the likes of rising star Stella Donnelly, Manchester indie-pop outfit Pale Waves, Californian hip hop act DUCKWRTH, Pharrell’s mate Buddy, indie rockers Starcrawler and relative newcomer G Flip, who’s been catching hype with her track ‘About You’.
While there’s no guarantee the acts on the lineup will appear at Splendour or Falls in 2018, it’s a good indication of who Secret Sounds have their eyes on right now. It’s also pretty obvious that most of the acts would sit well on a Splendour or Falls lineup.
While The Wombats have already confirmed they’re playing Splendour this year, a number of other acts are currently rumoured for potential appearances, including the likes of Arctic Monkeys, MGMT, Franz Ferdinand and Superorganism.
