Cypress Hill & London Symphony Orchestra In Talks To Make ‘Simpsons’ Collab Happen IRL

153

Hip hop legends Cypress Hill have revealed they are “actively speaking” with the London Symphony Orchestra to make their iconic collaboration on The Simpsons happen in the real world.

The two groups lightheartedly said last year they’d be interested in collaborating to celebrate their appearance together on the Simpsons episode ‘Homerpalooza’, but Cypress Hill’s Louis ‘B-Real’ Freese has now confirmed to Music Feeds that a project is in the works involving the band’s 1993 album Black Sunday.

Speaking with Music Feeds reporter Emmy Mack this week, B-Real said Cypress Hill are “figuring out how to make [it] work, to play our Black Sunday album together”.

“We don’t have a date, it’s still tentative, we’re trying to work out all the details,” he said.

“It’s quite an endeavour to have [London Symphony Orchestra] learn the songs and actually figure out where the venue and all that shit’s going to go. But that is something we are trying to figure out.”

B-Real is currently touring Australia as part of the rap-rock supergroup Prophets Of Rage. The band performed in Sydney last week and Download Festival Melbourne on Saturday, before playing a headline show in Brisbane tonight.

Stay tuned for Music Feeds‘ full interview with B-Real and his Prophets Of Rage bandmate Brad Wilk, coming soon on our Facebook page. Oh and relive Cypress Hill’s appearance on The Simpsons, below.
