Police say they are generally pleased with the behaviour of festival-goers at the first-ever Australian edition of Download Festival, despite a number of arrests.
Two assaults were reported to police at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday, while five people were evicted from the festival, with four people arrested for allegedly being drunk and each receiving a $634 fine.
“Crowd behaviour was generally good and patrons appeared to be in good spirits and enjoying themselves,” Senior Sergeant Jamie Hill tells Music Feeds.
“Given the length of the event, I am happy with how things went and the low number of arrests and evictions.”
The first-ever Download Festival Melbourne was headlined by Korn, Limp Bizkit and Prophets Of Rage.
