Second Leg of Slayer Farewell Tour Includes New York Dates

163

Thrash metal legends and Grammy award winners, Slayer have announced a second leg to their “Farewell Tour” across North America, and New York was not forgotten this time around.

Special guests for the first leg, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Testament, will stay on the road for part two, with Napalm Death rotating in for Behemoth. Several shows on the first leg have sold out.

Slayer will take in the beauty of New York with a cross-state run, giving fans everywhere in New York a chance to say goodbye and raise their horns with the band one more time. Four shows in all, those stops include July 29 at Northwell Health at Jones Beach in Wantagh, Aug. 1 at the Times Union Center in Albany, Aug. 3 at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Lake and Aug. 4, at the Lakeview Amphitheater in Syracuse.

Slayer formed in 1981 by guitarist Kerry King, and deceased guitarist Jeff Hanneman. The band released twelve studio albums, selling almost five million albums between 1991-2013. In 2007, the band won a Best Metal Performance Grammy for the song “Eyes of the Insane,” and in 2008 for the song “Final Six.” The bands third studio album, Reign of Blood (1986), is described as one of the most heaviest and influential thrash metal albums.
