Rochester Indie Musician Spotlight Shines on Grand Canyon Rescue Episode

Folk rock band Grand Canyon Rescue Episode stars in the 7th episode of this season’s Rochester Indie Musician Spotlight, a video interview and performance series. In this week’s interview segment, front man Tom Mahoney speaks with host Dan Gross about Grand Canyon Rescue Episode’s humble beginnings and organic approach to songwriting. Mahoney then picks up his guitar and is joined on stage by his bandmates, Steve Day (dobro/vocals), Jim MacAlvaney (drums), Miles McHugh (guitar/vocals) and Ron Permoda (upright bass/vocals). Their forty-minute set includes the songs “Gabriel’s Horn,” “18 Wheels” and “What Will I Do.”

Rochester Indie Musician Spotlight hosts live events, which are free and open to the public. Episodes are recorded at Bop Shop Records at 1460 Monroe Avenue in Rochester from 7-9pm. Upcoming Spotlight sessions include Aaron Lipp (solo) on April 4 and The Stedwells on April 14. Jon Lewis will finish out the fifth season and mark the series’ 50th episode on April 27.
