Vampire Weekend Return To The Stage For First Time In Four Years

213

Vampire Weekend have returned to the stage with a surprise show.

The band haven’t performed together since 2014 but they came back for a gig in LA. It was at ‘Running Late’ which is a show hosted by HQ Trivia host Scott Rogowsky.

As Pitchfork reports, they didn’t perform any new material instead opting for ‘Unbelievers’ from 2014’s Modern Vampire Of The City and Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa from their 2008 debut album.

It’s their first show since original member Rostam Batmanglij left in 2014. He’s gone on to release a solo album of his own Half-Light.

We’re still not sure when Vampire Weekend will release new material. Frontman Ezra Koenig previously revealed that the album is 80% done giving fans hope that it will be with us soon.

The band are headlining this year’s Splendour In The Grass. Hopefully by then they will have some new material to debut to us. It will be one of their first festival sets back.
