Annual Buffalo Porchfest Returns to Elmwood Village

126

Buffalo’s own front-yard music festival makes a comeback this weekend, welcoming neighbors onto each others lawns and musicians onto their property. Swapping out the stage for the porch of a stranger, grassroots music festival Buffalo Porchfest gathers local bands and musicians for a low-key afternoon of hometown fun. Each spring, Porchfest returns to the residences of Elmwood Village in Buffalo and is organized by volunteers and supported by the Elmwood Village Association.

This year’s fest will take place on May 19 from 1pm-6pm, or as long as the lawn parties rage on. Acts include a long list of familiar names like Space Junk, Cypher, ponder, Witty Tarbox and more. The inaugural Buffalo Porchfest began in the fall of 2013 in the Elmwood Village and is based on the original 2007 Porchfest started by organizers in Ithaca and those in Somerville, MA, Belleville, ON, and Cleveland, OH.
