HAIM Fire Agent After Being Paid 10 Times Less Than Male Act For Same Music Festival

Sisterly rockers HAIM have revealed they have fired one of their booking agents after allegedly learning they’d been paid a tenth of what a male artist had been paid for the same festival appearance.

Speaking with Grazia (via NME), Danielle Haim didn’t name the festival, the male act in question or their position on the festival lineup, but said the revelation was “fucked up”.

“We had been told that our fee was very low because you played at the festival in the hope you’d get played on the radio,” she said.

“We didn’t think twice about it, but we later found out that someone was getting paid 10 times more than us. And because of that we fired our agent.”

Alana Haim added that the band’s decision to fire the booking agent was a group decision.

“That’s why I love my sisters so much. I trust them with my fucking life. We’re all in this together,” she said.

“But it’s scary out there and it’s fucked up. It’s fucked up not even to be paid half the same amount. But to be paid a tenth of that amount of money? It was insane.”

HAIM are currently touring in support of their latest album, 2017’s Something To Tell You. The band last toured Australia in 2017 during Splendour In The Grass.
