Yep, Tim Lambesis Is Back In As I Lay Dying & They’ve Shared New Song ‘My Own Grave’

As I Lay Dying have officially reunited with frontman and convicted murder-for-hire plotter Tim Lambesis, announcing their controversial comeback with a new song dubbed ‘My Own Grave’.

The band has been on ice since 2013, when Lambesis was first arrested on suspicion of hiring a hitman to kill his wife. The next year, the metalcore frontman was sentenced to six years hard time for the thwarted murder plot, before being paroled at the end of 2016 after serving less than half of that sentence.

Fast-forward to this week, and rumours began circulating that Lambesis had reformed with his old bandmates in AILD, after the group purged their social media pages of all past content and posted a new video teaser, obscuring the identity of all members.

But there was also doubt cast upon the makeup of the band’s revived lineup, in the wake of guitarist Nick Hipa categorically denouncing his disgraced frontman as a “sociopathic narcissist in definite need of rehabilitation” in a damning post back in 2014.

But it seems like that’s all water under the bridge now, because AILD have just revealed their entire classic lineup — Hipa and Lambesis included — are back together.

And the gaping divide between fans’ reactions has so far been nothing short of incredible:

With lyrics like “I know I lost my way” and “Buried alive inside my own grave / there’s no one else to blame… Finally forced to face what I’ve become”, it’s clear that Lambesis’ lyrics could be pretty autobiographical on this one.

And plenty of the conflict inside fans’ hearts also seems to come from the fact that the song, to put it honestly, doesn’t suck.

If you feel up to it, you can check out the song for yourself below and let us know how you feel about As I Lay Dying’s comeback with Tim Lambesis in the comments.
