Iconic Melbourne pub & music venue, the East Brunswick Hotel, has finally reopened, after being closed for 18 months.
The venue, which was sold for $4.84 million in December last year, has gone through its fair share of closures. It was closed in 2012 initially, to be reopened and refurbished as an up-market pub in 2015. But after that lease ended, the owner at the time to decided to sell it as a vacant title.
The buyer, Scott Didier, has been dedicated to giving the venue a fresh new look over the past few months, and now it has finally re-opened as of this past Friday.
The three storey venue also features a live music stage now, offering bands the same chance to play in a venue that’s staged Aussie artists like The Temper Trap and Angus & Julia Sone. And for what it’s worth – there’s a John Farnham mural as well.
“The history and presence of this venue makes it one of the most unique pubs in Melbourne, and one with so much potential as a community pub, boutique hotel and home to live music,” he told Herald Sun.
