Jon Batiste Performs ‘What A Wonderful World’ For ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’

Pianist Jon Batiste did double duty on last night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Batiste both filled his usual role of leading Stay Human as the late-night program’s house band but also served as the evening’s musical guest. The New Orleans native performed a song that aired at the end of the show and also recorded a cover as a web exclusive.

Jon Batiste will release his major label debut Hollywood Africans tomorrow (Friday, September 28) through Verve Records. Batiste performed the album’s lead single, “Don’t Stop” for Thursday’s installment of The Late Show. He also played a stunning rendition of Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World” as a web exclusive. Hollywood Africans includes a number of classics from NOLA-based artists such as “What A Wonderful World” and “St. James Infirmary.” Watch both of Jon Batiste’s performances below:
