Kurt Vile Announces New Album ‘Bottle It In’ & Shares Single

Kurt Vile will release a new album entitled Bottle It In through Matador Records on October 12. The guitarist announced a tour with his backing band The Violators in support of the record, which features the single “Bassackwards.”

Sessions for Bottle It In were held in Los Angeles at producer Rob Schnapf’s Mant Sounds studio and at The Beer Hole with engineer/producer Shawn Everett. Additional recording was done in Portland, Oregon and in Brooklyn with Violator Rob Laakso co-producing. The majority of the 13-track Bottle It In was completed at Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, Connecticut with engineer/producer Peter Katis. It features contributions from Kim Gordon and Mary Lattimore, as well as Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint, Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius, and Cass McCombs and Farmer Dave Scher of The Skiffle Players. The album includes the previously shared single “Loading Zones.”

Kurt Vile & The Violators will tour extensively in support of Bottle It In. The worldwide tour hits Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, with dates spanning from October through April 2009. Watch the “Bassackwards” lyric video below:
