More Phish Amy’s Farm Soundcheck Video Surfaces

249

Last week, high-quality video featuring a portion of Phish‘s soundcheck from their historic Amy’s Farm performance at Larrabee Farm in Auburn, Maine on August 3, 1991 surfaced. Since then, additional footage from the soundcheck has been uploaded to Vimeo.

Amy’s Farm was a free concert held on first fan Amy Skelton’s property. Longtime Phish devotee Matt Laurence, one of the founders of Phish.net, came across video of most of the Amy’s Farm show on VHS format which he is currently digitalizing. While Phish’s encores aren’t included on the VHS with the rest of the concert, the soundcheck gives a taste of Steve “The Dude Of Life” Pollak’s guest appearance.

Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio met The Dude Of Life during their prep school days and formed the short-lived band Space Antelope. The Dude has made a number of guest appearances with Phish over the years and used the quartet as his backing band on Crimes Of The Mind, an album recorded in 1991 and released in 1994. Pollak also contributed lyrics to a handful of Phish songs including “Slave To The Traffic Light,” “Fluffhead” and “Run Like An Antelope.”

The Dude Of Life joined Phish for “Self,” “Bitchin’ Again” and “Crimes Of The Mind” during the first encore at Amy’s Farm. Steve and the band worked on “Crimes Of The Mind” and “Bitchin’ Again” as part of the soundcheck. Watch footage of both below:

Matt Laurence also shared footage of the “Wilson” opener from Amy’s Farm featuring Skelton’s introduction as a sample of what to expect when the full set is posted:
