Mumford & Sons Perform Television Debut, Talk Bruce Springsteen On ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’ [Watch]

197

Last night, Mumford & Sons stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, serving as the show’s musical guest, while Marcus Mumford sat down with Jimmy Fallon for a brief chat. The folk act also performed the television debut of “Guiding Light”, the first single off their forthcoming studio effort, Delta.

With their fourth studio album slated for release on November 16th, Mumford had lots to talk about. During the conversation, Mumford eagerly discussed the band’s final steps in mixing Delta, the fact his biggest musical influences are his bandmates, and that one time Bruce Springsteen invited Mumford & Sons onstage at a festival in Belgium.

Mumford pointed out that the only CD that had endured his teenage years in a shared family car was a Bruce Springsteen greatest hits compilation. After meeting him a few times, Mumford & Sons and Springsteen were both on a festival bill in Belgium. Impressed with their performance earlier in the day, The Boss invited Mumford & Sons up to assist him with “Hungry Heart”. Marcus Mumford hilariously forgot all of the vocals to the song, exclaiming, “It’s quite hard to forget the lyrics to ‘Hungry Heart,’ that’s how nervous I was.”
