This past Friday, Sir Paul McCartney released his newest studio album, Egypt Station. Following months of promotion, the release was celebrated with a full-tilt NYC-centered promo push that included a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, special limited-edition MetroCards, and a ‘secret’ intimate performance at Grand Central Terminal, which was webcast for free to thousands across the world.
Today, Paul McCartney has released a brand-new official music video for “Fuh You“, the cheeky third single off Egypt Station. “Fuh You” is a catchy pop jaunt that plays like a mix between Paul’s shimmering, upbeat, post-Beatles sound and more contemporary power-pop thematics. The track is centered around some amusingly raunchy lyrical innuendo—based on the context, its anyone’s guess whether this “Fuh” is short for “For” or a certain four-letter word.
The new video, a black-and-white clip is set in McCartney’s native Liverpool, England, and follows a young kid on his adorably confident, on-top-of-the-world stroll home through the city after a successful date. We’ve all had this feeling of triumph after connecting with someone special, and the new video captures those elated emotions with spot-on accuracy. We dare you to watch it and not crack a smile. In support of Egypt Station, Paul McCartney is preparing to mount his ‘Freshen Up’ Tour, marking his first full-blown live shows since his 2016–2017 ‘One On One’ Tour. Yesterday, McCartney added a trio of new dates to the North American portion of his tour, including stops in New Orleans, LA (May 23rd), Fort Wayne, IN (June 3rd), and Phoenix, AZ (June 26th).
