PREMIERE: Lime Cordiale Channel Their Inner Daryl Braithwaite In Delightfully Retro ‘Following Fools’ Video

Northern Beaches lads Lime Cordiale have gifted us with a delightfully retro new music video for their fresh drop of dreamy surf rock, ‘Following Fools’.

Inspired by an article from celebrated Aussie author Tim Winton, the clip centres around two impressionable teen boys growing up on the Beaches, influenced by ideas of masculinity from watching a male ‘hero’ figure on the tele.

“I used to teach music to the young boys in the music video,” explains Cordiale’s Oliver Leimbach. “We’ve known these two boys since they were 8 years old. Now in High School, these two lads have started coming to our shows.

“It’s different playing shows with young kids that you know in the audience,” he continues. “You’re on a stage metaphorically as well as physically and your actions are bolder when there’s a spotlight on you. But you don’t have to be on a stage to influence people. Young kids need guidance and there’s no need to leave them following fools.

The Leimbach brothers teamed up with filmmaker, Jack Shepherd, to bring the music video to life.

“Jack has been on tour with us and made a documentary, following us on the Permanent Vacation tour,” Oliver says.

“He also made the music video for our last single, ‘Naturally’. We set the music video on the Northern Beaches of Sydney where we all grew up. The music video is a bit of a biopic on all our lives. Jack grew up with brothers, just like us. We’ve spent our lives on the beach, influenced by the actions of older kids and men.”

Check out the official music video for ‘Following Fools’ premiering exclusively via Music Feeds below, and you can catch them live touring across the nation across November and December.
