While Paul Simon fits many of his most beloved songs into each show on his current Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour he also digs deep for a handful of album cuts. One such tune is “René & Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After The War” from 1983’s Hearts & Bones. Simon shared professionally-shot video featuring a performance of the song from July 3 in Copenhagen.
Paul performs a gorgeous arrangement of “René & Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After The War” with chamber ensemble yMusic towards the middle of each Homeward Bound show. Simon re-recorded the ballad, along with nine other songs from his repertoire, for his new album out today In The Blue Light. yMusic also contributed to the new studio version.
