143

We’re less than a month away from Mempho Music Festival, and the lineup continues to grow with the addition of late-night sets on both nights, going down on October 6th and 7th at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, TN. Each night, after the day’s headliners exit the First Tennessee Bank stage, Mempho Music Festival will keep the party going with late night sets on The Hard Rock Stage.

On Saturday night, October 6th, music fans will be treated to a special Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe Presents “Eat a Bunch of Peaches” performance, the band’s highly regarded celebration of the Allman Brothers Band and their 1972 Eat A Peach album. On Sunday Night, October 7th, the Mempho All-Stars, comprised of Robert Randolph, Karl Denson (The Rolling Stones), Orianthi (Michael Jackson, Alice Cooper), Cory Henry (Snarky Puppy), Isaiah Sharkey (John Mayer, D’Angelo), Nate Smith (Snarky Puppy), MonoNeon (Prince), Chuck Leavell (The Rolling Stones), DJ Logic, and Brandon “Taz” Niederauer (School of Rock The Musical) take to the stage to jam together on a variety of covers, pulling from the history books of soul, funk, and rock and roll.

The two-day camping event will see headlining performances from Beck, Post Malone, Nas, Phoenix, and Janelle Monáe. Other performers scheduled to play Mempho Music Festival include Mac DeMarco, Milky Chance, Rich The Kid, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Juicy J, Lucero, and a very special Stones Throw set led by Chuck Leavell and featuring touring Rolling Stones members Karl Denson, Lisa Fischer, Bernard Fowler, Darryl Jones, and Tim Ries.

The Bar-Kays, Larkin Poe, Eric Gales, Danny Barnes’ Space Program, and a tribute to Royal Studios, featuring William Bell, Bobby Rush, Al Kapone, Frayser Boy, & Hi Rhythm will also all be performing. Brandon “Taz” Niederauer will be on site as an artist at large.

Last week, Mempho Music Festival announced the addition of the world-renowned Incendia Dome, presented by Orion, to the festivities. The Incendia Dome, which has appeared at events including Burning Man, Mysteryland, Suwannee Hulaween, and more, will give festival attendees a one of a kind sensory experience provided by the fire, heat, and light created by the dome. Throughout the weekend, the Orion Dome will feature DJ sets from Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation and DJ Logic.

The late-night set announcement comes on the heels of the release of the 2018 Mempho Music Festival food lineup, featuring the best of Memphis and Southern style cuisine. Corky’s Ribs & BBQ, New Wing Order, Smurfrey Smokehouse, Fresh Gulf Shrimp, Bella Caffe Coffee, Miss Birdsong’s Sweet Tooth and more round out a stellar selection of eateries. VIP and Super VIP ticket buyers meanwhile, will be treated to meals by celebrated and award-winning Memphis Chef Karen Carrier.

Check out the full lineup below, and head to the festival’s website for ticketing and more information.
