The Brothers Comatose Announce Lineup Change

161

Americana act The Brothers Comatose announced the departure of two members as part of an update penned by guitarist Ben Morrison that was shared on Facebook. Bassist Gio Benedetti and mandolin player Ryan Avellone are leaving the group for “other pursuits” at the end of September.

Ben, banjo player Alex Morrison and fiddler Philip Brezina will continue on in 2019 with a new lineup. “We’ve been brethren for many years now and we’ve all grown closer to our Brothers Comatose family and friends together,” Ben wrote about Benedetti and Avellone. “We understand that these are not easy decisions to make and we will miss these guys dearly, but we wish Gio and Ryan the best in their pursuits and we hope you will continue to support them in all of their endeavors.”

Gio and Ryan will perform with the band for the remainder of shows they have scheduled this month including a hometown concert at Slim’s in San Francisco on September 19. “Alex, Phil and I (Ben) are excited for the next phase of the band. We are writing new music and after a short break from touring this fall & winter, we will regroup and return in 2019 with an exciting new lineup, and more shows and international tours that will be announced in the coming months,” reads a portion of the note from Ben Morrison about BroCo’s future.
