Iconic funk band War was among the performers at last weekend’s KAABOO Del Mar festival in San Diego. The group loaded into Jam In The Van’s mobile recording studio while at the festival to play a live set.
War, including original member Leroy “Lonnie” Smith laid down three classics for their contribution to the Jam In The Van video series. First up was the 1976 single “Summer.” Then, the group worked through the title track from 1975’s “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” Finally, War performed a fierce rendition of the early hit “Slippin’ Into Darkness.” Watch all three songs below:
