Alex Lifeson Performs Rush Songs At A Benefit Concert In Malibu

211

Rush closed out the R40 Live: 40th Anniversary Tour on August 1, 2015 and haven’t performed together since. As recently as last week, bassist Geddy Lee mentioned there are no plans to revive the band in the works. Guitarist Alex Lifeson had a rare opportunity to play a handful of Rush classics this past Sunday at the 11th annual Scott Medlock-Robby Krieger Golf Classic’s All-Star Concert at the Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu.

Lifeson teamed with a band that included former Chicago bassist Jason Scheff on bass for three of Rush’s most beloved songs. The guitarist showed off his skills on “Freewill,” “The Spirit Of Radio” and “Limelight.” Proceeds from the event, which is put together by sports artist Scott Medlock and The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Krieger joined in on “The Spirit Of Radio.” Watch video of Alex Lifeson in action captured by California Rock News:
