Daryl Braithwaite, John Farnham, and a collection of other national treasures have come together to release a special two-disc compilation album, Drought Relief, out today via Sony Music Entertainment Australia.
With Australian farmers facing some of the worst drought conditions in decades, losing livestock and crops, our rural communities have been struggling through the climate crisis.
The special release features 29 acts both international and Australian, including Aussie royalty like Jimmy Barnes, Midnight Oil, Paul Kelly and Bernard Fanning, who have all donated their songs royalty-free.
All net proceeds and funds raised from the album will go to the charity Rural Aid, and assisting young Australians affected by the drought.
Sony Music Entertainment Australia Chairman and CEO, Denis Handlin says, “I know everyone in Australia shares deep concern for the plight of our farmers and rural communities, who are the very backbone of Australia.
“The community is currently enduring the worst crisis some have ever faced, and on behalf of Sony Music Entertainment Australia and Sony Foundation, our thoughts are with all with those affected by this drought.

Drought Relief comes just a couple of months after Shannon Noll released his charity song ‘Lean on Me’, of which he donated 100 per cent of the proceeds.
