Death Cab For Cutie Performs ‘Transatlanticism’ In Chicago

150

Death Cab for Cutie performed their album Transatlanticism during their show Sunday at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. The complete performance of the record coincided with the 15th anniversary of its release.

“I Dreamt We Spoke Again” and “Summer Years” from the recently issued DCFC album Thank You opened last evening’s set. The band continued with “The Ghosts of Beverly Drive” and “Long Division” as well as their current single “Gold Rush.” Frontman Ben Gibbard then led a take on “The New Year,” which was followed by the other 10 songs on Transatlanticism. According to Setlist.fm, “Tiny Vessels,” “We Looked Like Giants,” “A Lack of Color” and “Death of an Interior Decorator” had not been played live since Death Cab’s complete performance of the album at Bumbershoot in 2013.

After the set closer “A Lack Of Color,” eight more songs were played across two encores, culminating with the show-ending “Marching Bands Of Manhattan.” Watch some audience-shot videos from last night captured by Sojahsey1 below:
