Giorgio Moroder Announces 1st Live Tour

Giorgio Moroder announced his first-ever live tour. The acclaimed 78-year-old Italian producer will perform a series of concerts in Europe in April and May 2019.

“It is something I have always wanted to do,” Moroder told The Guardian. “Fans kept reaching out to me, asking if I would ever do a real tour. Back in the days it was unthinkable for producers to ever leave their studios. That territory was reserved for the singers. Today, DJs and music producers have become the superstars of popular dance music, so the time feels right.”

According to The Guardian, Moroder will play a variety of keyboards and synthesizers while supported by a live backing band and singers. Moroder also told the outlet that video of the late Donna Summer will be shown in sync with the live band’s performances. The 13-date tour begins April 4 in Glasgow and is currently set to wrap on May 22 in Paris. Tickets go on sale on Friday, October 12.
