Greensky Bluegrass Welcomes The Lil Smokies In Stratton

247

The first leg of Greensky Bluegrass‘ Fall Tour 2018 concluded on Sunday night at Stratton Mountain Resort in Stratton, Vermont. Montana-based jamgrass act The Lil Smokies opened last night’s show and collaborated with the headliners for two songs at the end of GSBG’s second set.

Greensky Bluegrass kicked off their first of two sets with a cover of Traffic’s “Feelin’ Alright.” The Lil Smokies fiddler Jake Simpson emerged towards the end of the frame to help out on Flatt & Scruggs’ “Cryin’ Holy Unto The Lord (Rock Where Moses Stood)” and the original “I’d Probably Kill You.” GSBG focused on classic material during last night’s second set including “No Idea,” “Into The Rafters,” “Jaywalking,” “Old Barns” and “Tied Down.” The Lil Smokies came out at the end of the closing stanza as both bands loaded the stage for renditions of “The Shape I’m In” by The Band and Keith Allison’s “Freeborn Man.” Greensky went at it alone to encore with the recently debuted original “What You Need.”
