John Prine & Bill Murray Discuss Music, Comedy & More

John Prine and Bill Murray came together to discuss their early days in Chicago starting out in music and comedy. The Up Close & Personal chat between the singer-songwriter and actor was organized by the Recording Academy Nashville Chapter.

Prine, a native of the Chicago suburb of Maywood, began his folk career by performing at various clubs in the Windy City prior to the release of his debut album in 1971. Murray, a native of the Chicago suburb of Evanston, was working at Second City in Chicago prior to his success as a Saturday Night Live cast member in the mid-1970s. The pair discusses the likes of Steve Goodman, Kris Kristofferson, Leo Kottke and other important musicians as well as such beloved comedic talent as the late great John Belushi and Harold Ramis.
