Acclaimed synthesizer manufacturer Moog Music this week announced its first polyphonic analog synthesizer in 35 years. This week’s edition of Saturday Stream presents a Spotify Playlist featuring Moog-made synths from the past 50+ years.

The late Robert Moog founded what became the Asheville, North Carolina-based Moog Music in 1953. The newly announced “tri-timbral, polyphonic, analog dream-synth” Moog One is the latest addition to the company’s long-running commitment to producing innovative and interesting instruments.

Moog masters such as Bernie Worrell, Rick Wakeman, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder and Giorgio Moroder are prominently featured on the playlist. Early adopters like The Byrds, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Kraftwerk and Devo are found alongside the likes of Radiohead, Air, Beck, Stereolab, Tortoise and more. Krautrock is prevelant via Moebius, Popol Vuh, Harmonia and Tangerine Dream. The collection is filled out with recordings by The Disco Biscuits, LCD Soundsystem, Umphrey’s McGee, Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles and Grimes, along with several others.
