Philadelphia’s Electric Factory Now Named Franklin Music Hall

172

Last month, Bowery Presents acquired the Electric Factory in Philadelphia further expanding their reach in the City of Brotherly Love. The concert promotion company temporarily renamed the venue North Seventh while holding a contest to find a new name for the 2,700 capacity space since the owner of the Electric Factory trademark didn’t license the name. Today, Bowery Present has revealed that a winner has been chosen and that moving forward the room will be known as Franklin Music Hall.

“The name Franklin Music Hall was selected from more than 5,000 submissions during a naming contest, which kicked off in September following the acquisition of the venue by The Bowery Presents,” the company shared in a press release. “We were thrilled to see such an outpouring of suggestions from the city’s most passionate music lovers,” said Bryan Dilworth, The Bowery Presents Philadelphia buyer. “The new title was truly selected by fans, for fans, and honors the spirit of such an iconic Philadelphia music venue. We look forward to the Franklin Music Hall becoming a household name as the legacy of the venue continues to be written.”
