Red Hot Chili Peppers Cover Allman Brothers Band & More At Charity Event

On Saturday night Red Hot Chili Peppers headlined the Silverlake Conservatory Of Music gala, an annual event that raises money for the non-profit music education organization, which was co-founded by Flea. This year’s event honored legendary record producer Mo Ostin and featured additional sets from k.d. lang and Lindsey Buckingham. The California funk-rock outfit delivered a seven-song set that mixed material from their own songbook with a pair of unexpected classic rock covers.

As reported by Rolling Stone the Chili Peppers opened up their night with The Allman Brothers Band’s “Ramblin’ Man” and closed things out with a take on Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze.” In between, the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame act served up “Under the Bridge” and “By the Way” along with additional selections from their catalog.
