The Avett Brothers began a three-night stand at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on Thursday night. While fiddle player Tania Elizabeth is pregnant and taking time off the road, The Avett Brothers were joined by Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show for most of last night’s show.
Secor was on hand as the band kicked off the run with the traditional “Old Joe Clark.” The Avett Brothers went on to deliver a 25-song performance featuring material from nearly every era of their career. Last night’s concert included a handful of rarities such as “The Greatest Sum,” “The Perfect Space,” “Another Is Waiting,” “Left On Laura Left On Lisa” and a cover of Ola Belle Reed’s “I’ve Endured.” The Avetts also played recently debuted originals “Roses & Sacrifice” and “Trouble Letting Go.” Secor made his presence felt throughout the night and was on stage for the encore of David Childers’ “Lucky Stranger” and True Sadness gem “No Hard Feelings.” Watch a series of videos captured by DCRANGERFAN:
