Ann Wilson, Lisa Fischer, Jennifer Hartswick, Rhonda Thomas, the Mofro Horns and others joined The String Cheese Incident’s A Hula Incident: Celebrating Women Of The Galaxy Suwannee Hulaween performance. The guest-filled show was part of SCI’s three-set headlining appearance Saturday night at The Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida.

SCI’s opening set on Saturday began with Weather Report’s fusion instrumental “Birdland” and closed with “Colorado Bluebird Sky.” Between those tunes were “Sweet Spot” and a sequence consisting of “Sing A New Song” > “These Waves” > “Djibouti Bump” > “You’ve Got The World.” Set two kicked off with “Desert Dawn” before Thomas and Tony White emerged to lend vocals to “Get To You.” Set two filled out with “Hi Ho No Show,” “The Big Reveal,” “Jellyfish” and “Rosie.”

The third set Women Of The Galaxy celebration began with Fischer adding vocals to The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter.” Next came Hartswick to supply vocals and trumpet on Aretha Franklin’s “Rock Steady.” Thomas then reemerged for Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary.” It was then Fischer’s turn to lead a take on Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly.” Thomas was back out for subsequent covers of Otis Redding’s “Respect” and Amy Winehouse’s version of The Zutons’ “Valerie.” JHa was called on to sing and play trumpet on Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker.”

SCI then welcomed Wilson out to lead a rendition of Cream’s “Politician.” The Heart frontwoman also helmed a rendition of that group’s classic “Barracuda.” All of the guests were brought back for a collaborative closing cover of Bob Marley’s “Get Up Stand Up.” The encore was made up of an elongated “Rollover” that fit in elements of the themes to Close Encounters Of Third Kind, Star Trek The Next Generation, the original Star Trek as well as the “Cantina Jam” and “Imperial March” from Star Wars and part of “Also Sprach Zarathustra.”
