ALO & Tea Leaf Green Join Forces For Encores In Colorado

251

Over the weekend, old friends ALO and Tea Leaf Green paired up for shows in Boulder and Denver. Members of both bands came together for the encores on Friday night at the Fox Theatre in Boulder and at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver on Saturday.

The encore in Boulder featured one song from each band as well as a Beatles cover. All four members of ALO were joined by Tea Leaf Green guitarist Josh Clark and keyboardist Trevor Garrod to kick off Friday’s encore with “Wasting Time.” A jam out of the ALO original gave Tea Leaf Green drummer Scott Rager a chance to sub in for Ezra Lipp while bassist Eric DiBerardino replaced Steve Adams. The TLG-heavy lineup performed “The Garden Part III.” Adams and Lipp went on to rejoin the fray for a cover of The Beatles’ “I’ve Got A Feeling” to close out the evening. The joint encore on Saturday in Denver started with a rendition of ALO’s “Storms And Hurricanes.” Garrod then led members of both bands through Tea Leaf Green’s “Give Me One More Chance.” Finally, Mama Magnolia’s Megan Letts and Fruition’s Jay Cobb Anderson helped load the stage for a cover of “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers.
