Bob Dylan and Neil Young have been tapped as the first artists to perform in London’s Hyde Park next summer as part of the city’s British Summer Time concert series. The two beloved songwriters and guitarists will perform with their respective bands at the major park in Central London on Friday, July 12th, 2019.

Tuesday’s announcement did not reveal who would be performing first and who would get to close out the night, but fans should assume details on the concert scheduling will be shared closer to summer. Tickets for the one-night event going on sale beginning later this week on Friday, November 30th.

Both Dylan and Young both remain musical anomalies, as the two rock artists continue to draw big concert crowds in both their native countries (Dylan is from the U.S., Young is from Canada) and over in the U.K. even 50 years after their initial introduction back in the 1960s. A statement on the show’s announcement page also adds, “Considered the greatest songwriters of their generation, their contribution to the history of rock music puts them above even their most legendary peers.”

Since being honored with the globally prestigious Nobel Prize in Literature back in 2016, Bob Dylan has continued touring and giving his fans more recorded music, releasing Fallen Angels in 2016 and Triplicate in 2017. More recently, Dylan has been spending his time sipping whiskey with Jimmy Fallon and celebrating the November release of a box set for his 1975 Grammy Award-winning album, Blood On The Tracks.

Neil Young also had a noteworthy 2018. The Canadian rocker teamed up with his old friends Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp for the 33rd-annual edition of their Farm Aid Benefit Concert. He also reunited with Crazy Horse for their first show together since 2016, and even created the soundtrack for a film directed by his wife, Daryl Hannah, in which he also acted.

Other notable artists who performed as part of British Summer Time concert series in 2018 included Roger Waters, The Cure, Eric Clapton, Paul SimonJames TaylorBonnie Raitt, and many more.
