On Monday, November 5th, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros continued their cross-country trek to Nashville, TN with a performance at the historic Ryman Auditorium. The Grateful Dead guitarist welcomed an exciting array of special guests for the show including guitarist Buddy Miller, guitarist John Oates (Hall & Oates), and vocalist Margo Price.
Bobby, drummer Jay Lane, and bassist Don Was kicked off the show with a first-set mix of Grateful Dead favorites (“Hell in a Bucket”, “Tennesee Jed”, “Black-Throated Wind”, “Lost Sailor”, and “Saint of Circumstance”), Bobby’s Campfire Band‘s “Only A River”, and classic covers (“Mama Tried”, “She Belongs To Me”).
For the second set, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros invited guitarists Buddy Miller and John Oates to assist on Mississippi John Hurt‘s “My Creole Belle”. Mr. Oates stuck around for a classic take on “Friend of the Devil”. Then, sensational singer Margo Price stepped out to join the band for “Me and Bobby McGee”, a fitting choice for her gritty, country-tinged vocals.
Bob Weir and Wolf Bros continued through their set with Rob Wasserman‘s “Easy Answers” and Grateful Dead’s “Eyes of the World” before inviting Buddy Miller back out for Hank Williams‘ “You Win Again”. After a run through “New Speedway Boogie” with the core Wolf Bros trio, Miller returned once again for “Days Between”. To close the show, Bob Weir And Wolf Bros played through “Throwing Stones” and “Touch of Grey”, then returned for “U.S. Blues” in the encore slot.
