Song-identifcation app Shazam announced a new partnership with social networking app Instagram. Those on Instagram will be able to share Shazams as part of their Instagram stories thanks to a new feature available today for iOS users and coming soon for Android users.
After updating both apps, users of Shazam will find a button that gives them the ability to share discovery of a song through Instagram stories. Then, when users’ followers check out the story, they’ll have the option of clicking “More On Shazam” at which point the Shazam app will open directly on the song’s page. As Billboard points out, Instagram’s latest functionality is part of the social networking app’s move to incorporate music into its service. The company previously announced partnerships with Spotify, Eventbrite and SoundCloud.
