Marco Benevento has been on a roll recently, performing with his trio consisting of bassist Karina Rykman and drummer Andy Borger, as well as touring extensively with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead. The keyboardist has also somehow been making time for other collaborations, as he joined an all-star cast of musicians last weekend to host The Complete Last Waltz, in honor of The Band‘s legendary farewell concert, The Last Waltz.

Following tonight’s performance, Marco’s only other scheduled event of 2018 is an appearance at Warren Haynes’ Christmas Jam on December 7th. The Marco Benevento trio will then head out for their winter tour, opening up with a stop at Mobile, AL’s Soul Kitchen on January 23rd, before playing a show at Birmingham, AL’s Saturn on January 24th. The trio will continue with stops in Atlanta, GA and Nashville, TN (January 25th and 26th), before hitting Asheville, NC; Charlotte, NC; and Charleston, SC (January 27th-29th). Marco Benevento and his sidekicks will continue trucking on to Jacksonville, FL; Tampa, FL; and Orlando, FL; before wrapping the tour up at Miami, FL’s Blackbird Ordinary on February 2nd.
In other Marco Benevento news, the keyboardist has a new studio album on the way, which will be produced by Leon Michels and act as a follow-up to 2016’s The Story of Fred Short.
