Two weeks from today, former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler will issue a new album entitled Down The Road Wherever through his own British Grove Records via Blue Note on November 16. Knopfler shared the album’s second single, “Back On The Dance Floor.”
Mark Knopfler recorded Down The Road Wherever at his West London studio, British Grove. The album features 14 new songs that are said to be inspired by such topics as his “early days in Deptford with Dire Straits, a stray soccer fan lost in a strange town, the compulsion of a musician hitching home through the snow and a man out of time in his local greasy spoon diner,” as per materials announcing the LP. The guitarist will hit the road for an extensive tour in support of the album next year. Stream “Back On The Dance Floor” below:
