Earlier this year, instrumental quartet TAUK released a full-length album entitled Shapeshifter II: Outbreak. TAUK shared an animated video for the album’s “Let It Ride” single and announced a batch of early-2019 tour dates.
TAUK tapped Dugan Warmoth to direct the “Let It Ride” video. “Musically and visually, ‘Let It Ride’ heads deeper down the wormhole of Blade Runner, Tron and Ex-Machina,” reads a note from the band. “The video’s futuristic imagery takes viewers on a dystopian trip, and shows the continuing evolution of the Shapeshifter virus that began in TAUK’s live action ‘Checkmate’ video, continued onward through the animated ‘Recreational Outrage’ video through to its culmination in ‘Let It Ride.’” Watch TAUK’s animated video for “Let It Ride” below:
A tour in support of Shapeshifter continues through Saturday and also includes a four-night New Year’s Run. TAUK follows an appearance on Jam Cruise in January with dates in Portland (Maine), Boston, Philadelphia, Charlottesville, Newport News, Raleigh, Charlotte and Asheville.
