This Tuesday, November 13, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy issues a book entitled Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back) – A Memoir of Recording and Discording with Wilco, Etc. via Penguin Random House. Tweedy shared a trailer for the 304-page tome and an excerpt from his first foray into book writing.
Jeff Tweedy wrote about his entire career from his childhood to his time in Uncle Tupelo through his past 24 years fronting Wilco. Rolling Stone published an excerpt from a chapter of his memoir which deals with his addiction to opiates and the resulting stint in rehab as well as the recording of Wilco’s 2004 album A Ghost Is Born. Tweedy discusses how his life-long struggle with migraines led him to turn to pain pills. He describes how a “looming sense of imminent demise” comes through in some of the songs on A Ghost Is Born and why a number of tunes on the LP are about animals. Head here to read the excerpt.
