Bethel Woods Center For The Arts will team with Live Nation and INVNT to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original Woodstock festival at the site where the event was held. The “pan-generational music, culture and community event” will take place on the grounds of Bethel Woods in Bethel, New York August 16 – 18.

The three-day event will feature live performances “from prominent and emerging artists spanning multiple genres and decades, and TED-style talks from leading futurists and retro-tech experts.” Look for the lineup to be revealed in the coming months. Festival goers can also check out the Museum at Bethel Woods, including a special 2019 exhibit We Are Golden: Reflections On The 50th Anniversary Of The Woodstock Festival And Aspirations For An Aquarian Future.

“We are thrilled to partner with Live Nation and INVNT to produce Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival,” said Darlene Fedun, CEO, BWCA. “Fifty years ago, people gathered peacefully on our site inspired to change the world through music. As the stewards of this historic site, we remain committed to preserving this rich history and spirit, and to educating and inspiring new generations to contribute positively to the world through music, culture, and community.”

While Bethel’s event will take place on the grounds where the original Woodstock was held, it will not be produced by Michael Lang or the other producers of the 1969 festival. Lang recently announced details of his own celebration of Woodstock’s 50th anniversary are coming soon. Jimi Hendrix, The Band, Grateful Dead, Crosby Stills Nash & Young and Richie Havens are among those who performed at the original event, which was held August 15 – 18.
