Sharing playlists was a common occurrence during Obama’s presidency. Additional entries on Obama’s 2018 favorites list were songs by Prince, Kendrick Lamar, Janelle Monáe, Chance the Rapper, Anderson East, J. Cole, Fatoumata Diawara, Lord Huron, The Carters (Beyoncé and Jay-Z), Hozier with Mavis Staples and others. The former POTUS also included “in honor of one of the great jazz singers of all time, who died this year, a classic album: The Great American Songbook by Nancy Wilson.
