On November 30, Dave Matthews Band brought out a number of guests over the course of their second of two fall shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Jazz guitarist Mark Whitfield contributed to “Captain” towards the middle of DMB’s main set. Videographer ChesterCopperpot5 compiled four different video sources and taper audio to create a supercut video of Whitfield’s guest spot.
Whitfield made his Dave Matthews Band debut on December 21, 2012 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The guitarist sat-in three additional times before the recent show at The Garden. Mark Whitfield had never performed “Captain” with the group previously. DMB originally released “Captain” on 2002’s Busted Stuff and the version at The Garden was the tour debut and only version of the fall.
