Eminence Ensemble To Make The Mountains Their Home For First-Ever Multi-Night New Year’s Run

99

Colorado’s own rock fusion outfit Eminence Ensemble has had an exciting year worth celebrating. At the month’s end, they’ll close out 2018 on a strong note later this month with a four-night New Year’s run throughout Colorado’s most picturesque mountain towns.

For their first-ever multi-night New Year’s run, Eminence Ensemble will get things started at Buena Vista’s Lariat on December 27th, followed by a performance at Steamboat’s Schmiggity’s on December 28th. From there, the band will head to Frisco’s 10 Mile Music Hall on December 30th with psychedelic power-trio Cycles handling the evening’s opening duties. Eminence Ensemble’s four-night mountain town trek will culminate with a New Year’s Eve celebration at Vail Ale House in Vail, where the band will play a three-set blowout including one rare acoustic set.

The six-piece Eminence Ensemble—comprised Nick Baum (percussion, lead vocals), Justin Neely (guitar), Taylor Frederick (guitar), Zac Flynn (bass), Johnny Bosbyshell (keyboards), and Tanner Bardin (drums)—is no stranger to the road. The band recently toured the country coast-to-coast in support of Matisyahu, selling out many of the tour’s shows well in advance. Eminence Ensemble also played an extremely well-received set at Summer Camp Music Festival this year, highlighted by guest appearances from STS9’s Alana Rocklin and moe.’s Vinnie Amico.

In recent months, Eminence Ensemble has been taking some time away from the road, as the band started recording their new album, Real News, this past August. The sextet looks forward to announcing an album release date, dropping the lead single, and embarking on an extensive tour in support of Real News in the upcoming months. Eminence Ensemble is also gearing up for a mini run in support of nine-piece funk-powerhouse Turkuaz that will see them handle opening duties at stops in Missoula, MT; Bozeman, MT; Frisco, CO; and a final show at Denver, CO’s Ogden Theatre.

As guitarist Taylor Frederick notes,

The band is ready to welcome 2019 with a bang, and celebrate all we have accomplished this past year. We’re excited for the release of ‘Real News’, and I’m excited to see where the music goes next. The music keeps evolving immensely in our live setting, and these changes help keep the creative juices flowing. My prior statement of “excitement” is an understatement for what comes next.

Drummer Tanner Bardin adds,

We are very excited for this run because it is the first-ever Eminence Ensemble multiple-night New Year’s Run as a headliner. Last year we played a dream show opening for Umphrey’s McGee at the Fillmore in Denver and now we are doing a 4-night headlining run through some of the most amazing ski resorts in the world, so I am just very grateful for the opportunities we’ve been given as a band this year.

All of our closest friends and family will be there, which puts a certain atmosphere in the rooms each night. Many of these people have been seeing / supporting Eminence Ensemble for almost 10 years, since we were born at house parties on The Hill at the University of Colorado Boulder. So, when you know they are all in the rooms there is a certain desire as a band to deliver the best show they’ve seen. There is also a lot of huge acts in Colorado, so to be stepping up to the multiple-night New Year’s run plate with people like STS9 and String Cheese right down the road, we want to create something very memorable on this run!

I am so proud of everyone in the band, from band members all the way to production members. It’s been a huge grind with no end in sight and I can’t wait to see what happens in 2019.
